When I had my first vaccine jab - the phone call came from my own surgery.
I assumed it was a cancellation - to use up ALL the Pfizer- BioNTech Vaccine.
I did not know - the Vaccine Jab was to be given - in the Delce surgery centre - on Jan. 10th 2021

All I can say is I was surprised I didn't hear from my Dr's as my surgery is in Delce Healthy Living Centre AND is a Vaccine station ! It's only down the road from where I live but a family member had both her parents have theirs there , and they live near Medway Hospital . Just seemed a bit strange to me. It's an awful lot of people to vaccinate though  . Just glad I've had my first one.
Also... I won't be going to Chatham again for a good while yet, apart from the weather it was like a ghost town sadly.

Lyn L & mmitch.  The C19 jabs are not controlled by the doctors but by another department entirely.Castle seems to be different! From what I can see & hear, & my NHS daughter tells me, the 2nd jabs are all 12 weeks after the first; a case of "don't ring me, I'll ring you"! I suspect the Govt. are using all the first deliveries of the vaccine to get as many people as possible partly immune & 12 weeks gives time for later batches to be used. And in the meantime, everyone has had one jab.

I've just had my first one, lovely ladies and no ill effects. I got mine through the letter but do have the 2nd appt for May BOTH at Boots in Chatham , and still have not heard a thing from my Dr, I'm 74, could have been waiting forever  ?  It was the Astra-zeneca one.

I had the same card (2nd date left blank) They told me they would call me when they were issued with second doses in the next twelve weeks (9 to date)

Boots in Chatham would have been ideal for me - a month ago - Jan 7 - Receptionist at my doctor-
must have had instructions - `if a person can not accept a time slot - go on to the next patient `.
I had to tell her `I think the 6.40pm would suit me best - but I will have to phone my daughter,
as she has the car. The receptionist first called at 11.00 am - She said `I will phone you back at
12.30 PM `- She never did - We went to Lordswood - on the off chance she had booked me in.
I queued up outside - man with clip board said `your name is not on here `just then my own
doctor came out `said `I know him - put him down on your list - the trouble I have now is `I do
not know when I will be returning for my 2nd jab`as our small cards were blank - we had to fill
in the top section - ourselves with the vaccine type & date - the return date was empty. I will
return (if open) the 2nd week in April - if no phone or letter arrives. (Can not get through to surgery)

Yes were both in group 5 at 69 but ready to go. One of my sons at 43 will be going in the morning as he has a minor lung problem so they seem to be on the ball as he lives in Fleetwood.

Possibly right about the age order Alec. I'm 69 and been offered a jab from tomorrow. Although accepted one later in week when it is supposed to be a bit warmer; as my Covid Hub is up on Bodmin Moor!

At our vaccination appointment the guy explaining what was happening nonchalantly said that the vaccine today is Astra Zeneca, rather in the way of a waiter telling you what’s soup of the day. No doubt some similarity, but amused me.

I'm just a few months over 70 and therefore in Group 4. I had my jab last Friday. The target is to finish all group 4 people by 15th Feb and the government has asked anyone still in the group who haven't been contacted yet should call their GPs just to make sure they haven't been overlooked.


Reportedly, as a nation we are just a little in front of vaccination targets currently so this would seem to tie in with @Lutonman and wife being called early. I'm wondering if people are being called in age order as well as group order since I'm one of the last (and youngest) in the 70+ group while @Lutonman will be among the seniors of group 5?

@Lutonman, at 69 you are in group IV on age.  They seem to be working through GIV now, I'm off tomorrow for mine.

At 69 surprised to get text to book for my Jab, both wife & I go on Saturday to Lordswood.

I'm having my jab on Wednesday in Boots in Chatham and the 2nd same place on May 4th so exactly 12 weeks .
 Not so good if you have no transport to and from ( my son taking me ) so hope you do get transport for yours pr1uk.

I did a full report in my `Journal `on my Jan. 7th vaccine - the 1st one. I did start to write here
about it - but at near the finish - it got wiped out. ( go back on here to page 6 - then scroll down )

Please - do not write in that section - as it is a continuous Daily Journal - come back here & write.

I started that section in August 2020 - the previous section from March 10th 2020 - got wiped out.
