I have been reading all the comments about Cliffs End Hall, Now I wonder WHY Lady Sceales
left - I says in one part that the lady lived alone - I never actually met the Lady - Some one
else mentioned about the Saint Bernard dogs - Was the house falling down - due to no repairs
done to it - Was it sold to the council - then they developed it - or a private company bought it -
to put a housing estate - in its place - Fascinating story though.

I think this would have been Cliffs End Hall, which looks like it was demolished sometime in the 1970's.

Would the big house have been at Sevenscore, which is just outside Cliffsend?

I have been on the internet to find out where the family of `Scales `have gone - this will be a good one for the `where is it `- The 1930s - my sister worked for them at ` a big house & garden at
` Cliffsend ` near Ramsgate - We were invited & had tea on the vast lawn - There were six Saint Bernard dogs belonging the family - loose on the lawn. The Master of the household, was high
up in government service - as he entertained his Excellency the Emperor of Abyssinia - many times.
It is just a matter of curiosity - on my part - I know his Excellency Haile Selassie - died in 1975.

My sister was an under parlour maid - to the family.
