Not certain if this fits the dock yard or forts and castles,non nuclear explosives for the Christmas Island nuclear bomb tests were stored at Upnor RNAD and shipped out from Chatham via RFA ships .
These were components used to trigger the enriched uranium reaction,it worked by the "gun "method
Two sub critical masses were forced together by conventional explosives,these then went critical releasing the familiar mushroom cloud . Just adding a bit more knowledge to our ever growing fourum.
