Dave Smith:
KeithG. Don't know why but only just viewed your set of photo's of Leysdown station, many thanks. I have happy memories of cycling to Leysdown many times & even swimming there. The " opening" in 1901 reminds me of the 2 Ronnies, " I know my place"! Shop floor workers, cloth cap; Office workers, boaters; Other workers, trilby; Foremen & Managers, bowler;  Bosses, an upmarket trilby or larger bowler; The Boss ( none here) top hat.

Invicta Alec:
KeithG ... a fabulous set of photos. Thanks for posting them.

Alec.

KeithG:
Yes just realised NW ;)
I looked on older maps and says only Little Groves Farm no sign of Loves?

Smiffy:
Just realised I meant to say north west not north east but I see you found it anyway. Perhaps the farm title was never officially changed and Love's was the name of the later owners and became known as such by locals?

KeithG:
See what you mean about Loves further to NE.
In the 1950's the turn off the main road I remember it as Loves and not Groves on the sign but was a lot smaller and on the gate but being a kid maybe not right.
