I have an older version of my original post that was on the old forum that I may re-up at some time - I'm waiting to see if Stuart has any luck recovering what has been lost. Some other lengthy posts which took some effort, including those in Theatres, Music and Concert Halls, have also gone.

grandarog. many thanks for that very interesting report of the mechanical Rood. Was Boxley Abby close to the Pilgrims Way, as Thurnham Abby was please?

Thank you everyone. I did not read the title properly and thought it said road not rood and cat thought it was food. I need glasses lol.

Such a shame if the earlier posts have gone because i found this particularly interesting, as well as intriguing. So much so I tracked down several other articles about the food of grace from Boxley.
