Title: Chatham House !
Post by: castle261 on September 14, 2021, 11:27:21 AM
Chatham House was open on Sept.11 /12. 2021- it will be open again this week-end.
I liked the fireplace features, when I visited last week. One, I thought was unique.                           The fireplace had re- tracking curved fireguard , one of which was intact, the other
side damages, worth a visit. First & second floors, partly open. Funding now in place,
for a full restoration. This house is next to the old  `Featherstones, in the High Street.

I worked in Chatham House when it was the carpet dept of Featherstones ( 1974/6)
I was actually shown a few of the rooms upstairs including the Chapel, loved seeing it then. Hopefully it will be restored .
