Below is a Postcard sent in 1908 to my Grandmother Martha Harris at Grove End Farm from her Mother Sarah Dixon at Selling.
I Wonder how long the Journey from Tunstall to Selling took in those days.

Probably same day delivery. Service was far better then than we can dream of now.

Just had a letter from my friend in Ramsgate, dated 28th, so to Rochester  2 days  ;)

We had a postcard in Newhaven Museum posted from Dover about 7pm, from memory, concerning the loss of the Preussen date stamped on receipt at LBSCR 9am.
I find it pretty good here most 2nd class to England arrive next day-even a packet sent to the grand daughter posted 10am delivered Horsham 23 hrs later
