Title: Ashford Bus Companies
Post by: DaveTheTrain on June 29, 2021, 12:01:37 PM

Does anyone have any information, or links to who would be operating the motorbuses in the great war?

This photo has come up on a website, which I link to.  The bus survives, but I don't know which company owned it, and who operated in Ashford at the time.  I only copy the link as I am aware that copyright will exist with the holder of the the website I have linked to.

Many thanks
DTT

The soldiers are of the Royal West Kent Yeomanry. Identifiable by Bandolier,s and Spurs.
At a guess, assuming photo taken 1916 or later, I would say the bus would have been one the East Kent Road Car Company Limited  Vehicles . The company was formed from smaller Co,s around Kent in 1916.
