Pre WW2 by the look of the grass track and bikes. Could be Lyden or Brands or basically any field in Kent. :-\

They don't look like its a sit down dinner as the tables are too small. Possible a card game tournament? Bridge was very popular in the early Edwardian period?

Close enough - the photo is captioned Whist Drive.  But where is it.
