This Church was a beautiful prominent building on Newton Road well used until dwindling congregations caused it to be sold off and demolished circa 1975.
Replaced by the delightful architectural edifice Herbert Dane Court Flats as seen to date.
I dont know what Herbert Danes claim to fame was but the flats were named after him.
Born in Faversham, Kent on 14 October 1875 to Thomas John Dane and Clara HOBBS.Herbert Dane married Ethel James and had 3 children.He passed away on 9 Mar 1974 in Dunstable, Bedfordshire, England.
